Beaudesert Rd at Moorooka closed, six injured in two-car crash

A major southside road has been totally closed with traffic diverted in the middle of peak hour after six adults and children were injured in a two-car crash.

A major southside road has been totally closed with traffic diverted in the middle of peak hour after six adults and children were injured in a two-car crash.

Traffic has been diverted to Durack St after police closed both lanes of Beaudesert Rd, Moorooka, just after 3.20pm.

Five ambulance vehicles, three police cars and four fire appliances attended, with firefighters forced to cut off doors to release those in the cars.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said all six were believed to be in a stable condition, with the adults still in the process of being taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital at 4.30pm.

The children were transported to Queensland Children’s Hospital.

At least one person was still entrapped at 4.30pm.

Police were unable to say when Beaudesert Rd would reopen.

It was closed in both directions near Helles St.
