SEQWater has banned swimmers, anglers and boaties from all its recreational dams including Enoggera Reservoir, effective from today (March 26).
The dramatic move came after hundreds flocked to the reservoir on the weekend, flouting social distancing guidelines as they cooled off on a hot and perfect weekend.

The new rule also includes very popular walking tracks around the reservoir, in The Gap.
“To help mitigate the spread of COVID-19, recreational areas at SEQWater-managed lakes and parks will be closed until further notice,’’ it said in a statement on its website, and on signs placed around key areas.
“This includes all land and water-based recreation including boating, walking trails, skiing and fishing.
“We appreciate the public’s co-operation and understanding as we work to prioritise the welfare of our community and employees, and look forward to inviting everyone back to our recreational areas as soon as possible.’’
