Scouts prepare for annual sale of live Christmas trees

IF you’re scouting around for a live Christmas tree this holiday season, be prepared for a great deal from the Nundah-Northgate Scout Group.
The group has been selling live trees from its den in Nundah for years and will do so again on Saturday, December 15 and 22.
Trees range from small to extra large (5-6ft), with prices from $10 to $30.

Leader-in-charge Joanne Neeland said they already had a few orders and, even though pre-ordering was best, people can just turn up between 7.30am and 1.30pm.
“This is a great fundraiser for our group,” Mrs Neeland said.
“I love it because it’s bright and happy. For a lot of people it brings back childhood memories and the smell of the trees is fabulous.
“The trees are cut fresh on the Friday and then sold on the Saturday.”
They aren’t in pots but buyers do receive instructions on how to care for their tree.
Mrs Neeland said delivery could also be organised in the local area for an extra charge.
The scout den is in Primrose La near Nundah Library.

Trees are between 5ft and 8ft and range from $60-$90. Stands are $35. They offer collection points for ordered trees in north, south and central Brisbane. Details: www.chrissytrees4u.com.au

The centre, in conjunction with Chrissy Trees 4 U, is offering a collection point for 6ft pine trees from December 7-9. Order onlineor there are a limited number available for in-centre purchase.
■ Merry Christmas Trees, Sunshine Coast
Trees are between 5ft and 8ft-plus, and range from $90-$195. Stands are available between $40-$90. They do weekly delivery runs to Bribie Island, Caboolture and the hinterland. Details: www.merrychristmastrees.com.au
