Victoria Point salon’s lux treatment and reasonable prices voted best in Redlands for 2021

A salon where the client is not just a number and luxury comes at reasonable cost has been voted the Redlands’ best in our online poll.

A hot talent plucked from overseas was overjoyed to hear her expertise has been recognised by her beloved community.

Following a record response from Redland Community News readers passionate about their favourite hair salons, Shear Art Hair Salon in Victoria Point was voted the best salon in the Redlands for 2021.

Owner Jenova Chetty, who also runs a namesake salon in Redland Bay, made her professional start in Sydney after gaining sponsorship from South-Africa.

A love affair with the Redlands ensued three-and-half years later and Shear Art Hair Salon has never looked back since its opening in Victoria Point nine years ago.

Mrs Chetty put the business’ success down to its intimate feel.

“We don’t treat our clients like just another number; we treat them like family here,” she said.

“I have had a lot of loyal clients coming here since we opened.

“We also try to give you a luxury experience but we don’t charge a fortune, we keep things reasonably priced and that is what keeps our clients coming back.

Shear Art Hair Salon in Victoria Point has kept customers coming back for years.

“And we also specialise in organic products; we use organic colours and shampoos and so forth.”

Mrs Chetty made special mention of her staff with whom she shares a close bond.

“I love my staff,” she said.

“I trained them myself and they know how I like things and they do it.

“I look at them more as my family, the girls.”

Shear Art Hair Salon in Victoria Point has been crowned the Redlands’ best.

The win came after hundreds of residents interacted with our poll giving indication of the Redlands’ competitive hair salon market, and making the victory all the sweeter for a business owner who revels in the job.

“It is not a job for me,” Mrs Chetty said.

“Coming to work for me is like spending time with family and friends.

“That is how I look at my clients.

“And I enjoy making clients feel good.

“My motto is if you look good, you feel good, you do good.”
