A dad has been remembered as a “legend” and “truly one of a kind” after he was killed in a tragic motorcycle crash east of Brisbane as family and friends speak about their “nightmare”.

A dad has been remembered as a “legend” and “truly one of a kind” after he was killed in a tragic motorbike crash east of Brisbane as family and friends speak about their “nightmare”.
Steve Lewis died after the motorbike he was riding around 1.13pm on April 3 was travelling north on Clifford Perske Drive at Thornlands collided with a car, which was turning right into Kriskyle Street, according to police investigations.
Mr Lewis, a 40-year-old from Thornlands, died at the scene despite two people, including a nurse, rushing to save him at the scene.
His death has shocked family and friends with more than 30 people posting tributes to his Facebook profile.
“I wish I hugged you harder the other day, I wish I gave you a sloppier kiss, I wish this was all a nightmare, and I could just wake up. (We) are absolutely heartbroken. Life is so unfair, love you forever Uncle Steven,” one person wrote.
“RIP Steve Lewis you legend I will miss our chats. Only just spoke to you on Monday and now you’re not here. My heart goes with your family and your two boys,” a friend posted.
“RIP Steve Lewis a legend gone too soon, save me a seat bro, I’ll bring the beers,” another comment said.
“We was just talking two days ago and everyday before that and now (you’re) gone. RIP you absolute legend. I will forever take your advise with me and your quirky attitude,” another friend said.
Among the tributes were emotional posts, which included comments about how much Mr Lewis loved his bikes, including motorbikes and BMX.
“A beautiful genuine man that loved his kids. Childhood BMX bandit, stealing my cigarettes, the three Amegos, you will be missed, love to all family and friends, my thoughts are with you at this time,” one person said.
“Going to miss the revs of your bike and the beep beep while (you) go past the house. You are truly one of a kind Steve Lewis and will be deeply missed. R. I. P Bloke you legend,” another tribute said.
“RIP brother will remember the great rides we had together,” a friend said.
The driver of the car, a 67-year-old Thornlands man, was not physically injured in the incident.
Forensic Crash Unit officers are appealing for anyone who saw the orange and black Suzuki GSXR1000 before the crash to contact police.
