THE CALL for the Redlands’ best coffee shop returned fierce competition as local caffeine lovers voted for their favourite brew.
A winner has been declared, and it is none other than new kid on the block, Capalaba’s Scissors Paper Rock cafe.
Co-owner Jayke Cuschieri said business had only been opened two months but the team was already enjoying return customers.
“I suppose we’re doing something right,” he said.
Mr Cuschieri — who recently returned to Queensland after living in coffee haven Melbourne — said he and business partner David Roby were focused on providing high-quality products and service and an atmosphere that made people want to stay a while.
“I used to enjoy going to different cafes in Melbourne … and you definitely remember the ones where you’re treated well,” he said.
He said the cafe would celebrate its new title on January 7 with a free coffee day to thank customers for their support.
