Two 19-year-old girls have been told by a magistrate to re-think their friendship circle before it’s too late after being caught up in police raids and drug use.
Breeanna Jade Leila Madsen and friend Sara Michelle Tucker-Francis appeared in Cleveland Magistrates Court yesterday on a string of charges.
Madsen, of Alexandra Hills, pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing drugs and one count each of possessing drug utensils and property suspected of having been used in a drug offence and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
Meanwhile Tucker-Francis, of Birkdale, pleaded guilty to a list of charges including supplying drugs, and three counts of possessing drugs.
She was also chared with possessing property suspected of having been used in connection with a drug offence, possessing property suspected of having been used in the commission of a crime, two counts of possessing drug utensils, unlawful possession of stolen property and possessing property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence under the drugs misuse act.
The court heard the pair was caught up in a police raid on a home where mobile phones containing suspicious information, drug utensils including a bong were ceased by police.
The court also heard Tucker-Francis had been selling drugs to support her own cannabis habit and to pay for night clubbing, clothes and living expenses.
Tucker-Francis said she had started selling cannabis after she lost her job at a Subway outlet but she had since secured a new job and so no longer needed to sell the drugs.
Meanwhile, Madsen, the court heard, had been caught with ecstasy, cannabis and scales, grinders and a bowl and scissors linked to drug use.
Magistrate Deborah Vasta said it was “not cool” for the pair to be spending time in a crowd which frequently attracted attention of police.
The pair pleaded guilty to all charges and were both ordered to serve 18-month probation orders. No convictions were recorded.
