With less than two weeks until the Federal Election, Redland City Council confirmed it was investigating a number of complaints about non-complying election signs.
A Council spokesman said “Council does not comment on specific issues under current compliance action”.
“As with every election we are currently responding to complaints about a number of noncomplying signs,” the spokesman said.
“Council will investigate complaints and take action on any signs that contravene our local laws.”

The Electoral Commission of Queensland (ECQ) also confirmed it received a complaint about an election sign in Bowman electorate.
A spokesman confirmed the complaint was regarding an election sign’s compliance with Queensland Government developer donation laws.
They confirmed the complaint had been lodged by Capalaba MP Don Brown.
Mr Brown wrote to the ECQ Commissioner regarding what he believed to be a “donation/gift from a property developer” to a candidate for Bowman.
The High Court ruled last month that Queensland laws banning property developers from donating to political parties and candidates was valid.
The billboard was erected on private property in Thornlands.
