Pre-polling opens in Cleveland today for the 2019 election with six candidates contesting the seat of Bowman.
Candidates in order of the ballot paper include, Emerald Moon (The Greens), Andrew Laming (LNP), Shane Clarke (United Australia Party), David Anderson (Fraser Anning’s Conservative National Party), Glen Wadsworth (Pauline Hanson’s One Nation) and Tom Baster (Labor)

In the lead up to the election (May 18) local community group the Political Agitator is hosting The Battle for Bowman - Election Debate at the Capalaba Sports Club on May 5 with current Bowman MP Andrew Laming, Greens candidate Emerald Moon and Shane Clarke (UAP) committed to the community discussion.
Host Damien Buckley said to date Glen Wadsworth and David Anderson had not been in contact with organisers but he “hoped the candidates would join the debate”.
He said Labor candidate Tom Baster had declined to participate.
In his Facebook post about the event, Mr Buckley said “in a genuine Q&A style panel forum, with a supporting cast of State MP’s and Councillors. Get to the real heart of Redlands issues”.
Mr Buckley said gold coin donations on the door would go to charity.

History: The seat of Bowman has tic-tacked between Liberal and Labor over the years, but has been solidly held by the LNP’s Andrew Laming for almost 15 years since 2004.
Local issues: Tourism and jobs, as well as key road projects, will be key issues in the seat of Bowman. But there will be an addition firebrand issue of the controversial Toondah Harbour development.
