A woman is currently in intensive care at hospital after a near drowning incident at a southeast Queensland home.

Paramedics were called to a home on Thompson Street, Victoria Point, at 10.39am this morning, December 26.

An ambulance spokesman said multiple units attended after a post-immersion incident, where a woman had been in a pool.

They said the person who initially called emergency services described the woman as “elderly”, but paramedics had not confirmed her age.

At 4pm, she remained critical but stable in the hospital’s intensive care unit.
