THE REDLANDS community has been invited to say “thanks” to local bus or school bus drivers as part of the State Government’s Driver of the Year campaign.

Transdev operates more than 4000 school and bus services per week between Redlands and Brisbane, and encouraged residents to nominate their local driver.
Transdev Chief Officer for bus operations Nikki Allder said the campaign was a good way to acknowledge the hard work of the drivers.

“We have a passionate team of ‘journey makers’ who are committed to providing customers with a safe, reliable and friendly service,” she said.
“Many drivers go above and beyond to look after and deliver a great service for customers and these awards are an opportunity for the community to recognise and thank them for their efforts.
“We are proud to be one the largest employers in the Redlands, with our Journey
Makers helping to transport more than 2.6 million residents each year through our
urban, school and charter services.”

Transport and Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey encouraged customers to nominate their favourite driver.
“These awards celebrate Queensland bus drivers who go above and beyond in delivering excellent service,” Mr Bailey said.
“We encourage customers to get behind our drivers and share powerful stories of their bus driver improving their journey.”
Transdev drivers will be eligible for the South East Queensland and School Driver categories and can be nominated at www.translink.com.au until June 17.
