The owner of a prominent Bayside pool maintenance company spent a night in custody after police claimed he was a “risk to the public,” alleging he was caught drug driving and in possession of explosives and methamphetamines while on bail.
MJ Pool Restorations owner Macauley Rhys Jones, 29, was charged with failing to have an authority required to possess explosives, possessing property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence and possessing dangerous drugs.
A police prosecutor said Mr Jones was intercepted by police on May 8, 2024 with meth in his possession and in his system.
“He is continuing to commit offences while on bail,” she said.
“He is putting the public at risk,” she said.
The court heard the prosecution would have to hear a good reason from Mr Jones’ lawyer for Mr Jones to be released into the community.
“You’ve come to the end of the road for the moment,” the prosecutor told him.
Mr Jones was remanded in custody.
