Mask rules patrolled on reduced ferry services to islands, Straddie

Tourists on Straddie who want to leave the island today have been told to wear masks and check reduced ferry and car barge times.

Tourists on North Stradbroke Island who want to leave the island today have been told to wear masks and check ferry and car barge timetables after cancellations and changes were made on Saturday.

Ferry and barge company Sealink issued alerts informing passengers they must wear masks on all boats, even if they stay inside their vehicle while on the barge.

Directives from police and the state government yesterday clarified that masks must be worn inside cars and holidaymakers leaving the island must go straight home without stopping unless it is for essential services.

STRADDIE BARGE AND WATER TAXI TIMES FROM DUNWICH

The Sea Breeze vehicle ferry leaving departing Cleveland at 6pm and the boat departing Dunwich at 7pm have both been cancelled.

The last vehicle ferry will leave Cleveland at 5pm today and Dunwich at 6pm.

There will be six passenger ferries leaving the island from Dunwich today at 7.25am, 8.25am and 9.25am and at 3.55pm, 4.55pm with the last one leaving at 5.55pm.

There will be six passenger ferries leaving Cleveland today at 6.55am, 7.55am, 8.55am and then at 3.25pm, 4.25pm and the last at 5.25pm.

On Monday, passenger ferry services will leave Dunwich at 5.25am, 6.25am, 7.25am, 8.25am, 9.25am, 10.25am and 3.55pm, 4.55pm and the last passenger ferry from Dunwich will be at 5.55pm.

Passenger ferries to Dunwich will leave Cleveland on Monday at 4.55am, 5.55am, 6.55am, 7.55am, 8.55am, 9.55am and then at 3.25pm, 4.25pm with the last passenger ferry on Monday leaving Cleveland at 5.25pm.

SOUTHERN BAY ISLAND SERVICES FOR SUNDAY AND MONDAY

Changes have also been made to the ferries and boats to the southern Moreton Bay islands of Macleay, Karragarra, Lamb and Russell.

The Stradbroke Venture vehicle barge services have been cancelled and only the Bay Islander vehicle service will operate today to the regular Sunday timetable.

On Monday, there will be no Moreton Escape services.

Passenger ferries to all bay islands will run to the usual Sunday timetable today but there will be a 60-passenger limit on all boats.
