Bon-Reece Levi Edwards, 29, pleaded guilty to a string of charges when he appeared at Cleveland Magistrates Court on Friday, including carrying an exposed weapon in a public place, unlawful use of a vehicle, possession of a knife in a public place, possession of drugs, multiple stealing offences and possession of explosives, among others.

The court heard Edwards went on a drug-fuelled crime spree across Capalaba and Alexandra Hills between November 3, 2019 and January 23 this year in a stolen car with fake number plates all the while brandishing a replica fire arm and knife.

The father of two tested positive to driving under the influence of Ice, cannabis and ecstasy and committed multiple fuel drive offs from local service stations.

On January 23 Edwards was apprehended with a knife, a replica fire arm and three drug pipes while driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle on Greencamp Rd in Wakerley.

“You are too old for this, this is rubbish,” Magistrate Deborah Vasta said.

“You and your little mates are running around like you are in some kind of gangster fantasy with your guns and your stolen cars.

“You’re like teenagers playing tough boys, meanwhile what are your kids thinking of you, what kind of role model are you setting?”

Defence solicitor Stephanie Tsimos said her client, who plans on moving to Adelaide, was using up to one gram of Ice while house-sharing in Capalaba.

“Redlands is a bad environment for him,” Ms Tsimos said.

“He has a terrible drug problem.”
