RESIDENTS are being invited to find out more about plans to build a mega sports and recreation precinct on a large parcel of land at Mount Cotton.
The draft master plan for the Redlands Coast Regional Sport and Recreation Precinct, to be built on 159 hectares at 277 — 293 Heinemann Road, is expected to be unveiled next month.

Ahead of its release, the community has been invited to an information session to be held at Mount Cotton Hall this Sunday from 10am.
Land for the precinct was bought by the council in 2017 and master planning began in July following a $100,000 grant from the State Government.
Mayor Karen Williams has said the project would provide the city with new sport, recreational and environmental opportunities.
“The recreational potential and environmental benefits of this site will provide our residents with more sporting fields and community amenities to enjoy,” she said.
“While also protecting a significant area of natural habitat close to existing council-owned conservation land.”
The master planning is being undertaken by Ross Planning and is expected to be released in October.
