Cleveland Sands Hotel voted best pub in Redlands for 2021

A heritage-rich pub not afraid to make bold changes for its wide following has been crowned supreme in the Redlands.

They’ve kept locals satisfied for more than 90 years yet the pub to rule them all this year is proud of its forward-thinking attitude.

The Cleveland Sands Hotel has been chosen by our readers as the Redlands’ best pub for 2021.

A fixture for many a decade in the alluring bayside hub of Cleveland its management was chuffed with the win but not too surprised.

“We are very honoured and thank your readers for their support,” a Sands – as it is colloquially known – spokeswoman said.

“It’s always so great to be acknowledged by your local community, our locals are so important to us.”

Founded in 1930 it underwent a full renovation in 2016 and has a focus on broad appeal, according to management.

“Cleveland Sands truly is a bit of a venue for everyone and we really want it to stay that way,” a Cleveland Sands spokeswoman said.

“We are always looking to test new concepts, menus, food and beverage ideas. The winter igloo garden we have live at the moment is a great example. The venue is great for a family lunch, dinner with friends or a late night drink.

“We really try to ensure we listen to our locals and respond to their feedback.”

The venue’s sports bar is next up for a touch-up and there is live music every weekend.

In honour of Dry July, the Cleveland Sands has new zero alcohol products available across the venue, plus a menu change showcasing “some new winter warmers like slow braised beef cheeks and hearty winter soups”.
