A new restaurant serving gourmet wood-fired pizzas, ranging from maple bacon and chicken to Nutella s’mores, is the latest venue to join a bayside retail precinct.

Cedar & Stone Woodfired Pizza Bar, at 13/685 Old Cleveland Rd East, Wellington Point opened its doors today, with the restaurant operating from Wednesday to Sunday each week and seating up to 100 people.

Simon Molineux and Daniella Harrison are the co-owners of the business and said they were excited about the new venture.

“Wood-fired pizza, what more do you need?” Mr Molineux said.

“Our last place was a lot more takeaway focused, this is more like our style and what we really want to do.

“We’re really excited, we have found quite a lot of enthusiasm from the community and from old customers.”

Cedar & Stone first opened in 2020 at Capalaba and operated out of a shipping container.

In March this year, they planned a move to Fortitude Valley but eventually found a suitable location back in Redlands.

As well as a range of wood-fired pizzas, the restaurant also serve burgers, ribs and a selection of cocktails.

Their pizza styles vary from traditional to gourmet delicacies, including a special with kangaroo as a topping.

Mr Molineux said they enjoy having a range of new and interesting pizzas to choose from on the menu.

“Dessert pizzas are the way to go, variety is the spice of life as they say,” he said.

“We always play around with a lot of food, that’s one of the reasons we stand out.

“Even if you look at the main menu, it’s not as standard as most places.”

Mr Molineux and Ms Harrison had worked in restaurants for 10 years each in back of house roles.

They said customers could expect great food and a good atmosphere.
