Builder Fiteni Homes is seeking local input for its new Victoria Point community, Woodbury.

The project is planned for an 80ha site on the north side of Double Jump Rd, about 2km southwest of Victoria Point Town Centre.

On completion, Woodbury is expected to become home to about 800 families.

Fiteni is undertaking community consultation after lodging a number of development applications with Redland City Council.

Plans include road upgrades, rehabilitated bushland, about 20ha of open space and nature networks, parks and pedestrian and cycle trails.

Woodbury will predominantly include traditional, stand-alone houses.

Fiteni Homes manager Vaughn Bowden said the group was excited to introduce the project to the Redlands Coast community.

“As Woodbury will be home to the next generation of Redlands residents, we believe it is important that local residents get to have a say on the character of the new community and how they would like us to design its recreation and nature network, as well as community facilities,” he said.

“Woodbury represents a bright new future for the Redlands and we look forward to creating a place that celebrates the best our area has to offer.”

Community consultation is invited through a new interactive engagement hub now open at Victoria Point Cineplex, an online survey, a series of workshops and an innovative engagement program involving local schools.

“The opening of the Woodbury engagement hub marks a major milestone for the Redlands community, and is part of a wide-reaching community engagement program that seeks the input of all Redlands residents, with a particular focus on families, teenagers and children,” Mr Bowden said.
