A Queensland police watch-house officer has faced court after allegedly refusing to perform his duties.

A Queensland police watch-house officer has fronted court after allegedly refusing to perform his duties.

Brisbane city watch-house officer Colin Leonard Lyon, 55, appeared in Cleveland Magistrates Court on Tuesday charged with refusing to perform a duty as a public officer.

Queensland Police confirmed Mr Lyon was suspended from duty with the service after he refused to perform his duties in Brisbane City on September 6 last year.

The Kallangur man’s lawyer, Alina Somerville, said her client would contest the charge.

“The matter is going to be contested in direction with case conferencing,” Ms Somerville said.

Mr Lyon’s case is next due in court on March 29.

Magistrate Deborah Vasta continued his bail.
