Baby boom and real estate bubbles? Caulfields and Warats uncork unique monikers

We’ve all heard of the real estate bubble but two property agent couples have popped the baby bubbles, uncorking some unique names to usher in a new era of sparkling baby monikers to kickstart 2024.

Queensland’s top real estate agents are ushering in a new era of sparkling baby-naming brilliance to mark the start of 2024.

In the fast-paced world of Queensland real estate, where penthouses dominate glitzy streets such as Tedder Ave and Camellia Street at Clontarf, or Zeus Court at Cleveland, a trend is emerging for unusual baby names.

Forget conventional monikers, property gurus Simon and Courtney Caulfield, have christened their bundle of joy Krug, after the elite champagne known for making even the most refined tastebuds do a happy dance.

Meanwhile, real estate magnate Damon Warat and his wife, Gracie, welcomed their third child, Gigi.

The couples have spoken out about the naming fashion in the sector, where it seems the agents are not just selling properties, they’re curating a collection of uniquely named heirs to the throne.

Family and friends are cheekily calling the little Caulfield bundle of joy Baby Krug, the real estate heir.

Little Krug made his grand entrance at Mater Mothers’ Hospital in South Brisbane, clocking in at 3.1kg – the equivalent weight of two bottles of his sparkling namesake.

Simon, the director of Place Kangaroo Point, and his wife, the lead agent, were armed with a list of potential names, but Krug emerged victorious as the champion of uniqueness with both parents clearly inspired by the effervescence of the French champagne house.

“Krug is more than a name; it’s a symbol of strength and individuality,” Mr Caulfield said.

The couple’s love for bubbly knows no bounds, especially when it comes to the exclusivity of Krug Champagne, which they believe mirrors their own exceptional taste.

Despite their dedication to the real estate hustle, the Caulfields found themselves unexpectedly blessed with parenthood.

“Our pregnancy wasn’t planned, but we’re over the moon to have this happy and healthy baby boy,” Mr Caulfield said, adding that looking at little Krug made him wonder why they hadn’t embarked on this adventure sooner.

With genes as impressive as a prime piece of real estate, Krug inherited his mother’s nose and ears and his dad’s enviable eyelashes – a genetic cocktail worth celebrating.

Meanwhile, in the realm of luxurious living, fellow Brisbane real estate magnate Damon Warat and his wife, Gracie, welcomed their third child, Gigi, at Mater Mothers’.

Gigi, making a fashionably early entrance, arrived just before 5pm with a head full of hair that could give any shampoo commercial model a run for their money.

As the director of Ray White Ascot, Mr Warat confessed that Gigi’s arrival caught them off guard, not scheduled until Thursday.

Nevertheless, Gigi completes their familial ensemble, joining big brothers Billy and Woody. Mr Warat wasted no time getting back to work, praising his wife for emerging from the birthing experience looking like a runway model – clearly, the Warats know how to do parenthood in style.

As for what’s next on the horizon, who knows? Perhaps a child called prosecco or Merlot after a vineyard mansion – the possibilities are as endless as rising real estate prices in the Sunshine State.
