Proposed industrial warehouse in Wacol tipped to bring 20 jobs

A new addition to an industrial precinct between Ipswich and Brisbane is tipped to bring more jobs to the region.

A NEW addition to an industrial precinct between Ipswich and Brisbane is tipped to bring another 20 jobs to the region.

Development plans for a distribution centre in Wacol’s Industrial Ave have been submitted to the Brisbane City Council.

The site at 16 Industrial Ave is currently leased by the council and used to service their vehicle fleet.

Developer Desane Properties have proposed using establishing a new distribution centre on the site, covering 3250sqm at the rear of the existing workshop building.

A spokesman for Desane Properties said the new project would employ about 20 people if approved.

Planning documents reveal the centre will operate every day.

“The industrial focus of the proposed development is appropriate within the context of the surrounding area,” the documents read.

“Immediately adjoining the subject site is a number of industries uses, including low impact, medium impact and high impact developments.”
