THIS Rochedale house was created for family living with unique design features.
Set on a 503sq m block, it is in a quiet cul de sac location.
Owners Robin and Stiven Matic built the house 18 months ago with an emphasis on social living around the kitchen, living and dining areas.
Mrs Matic said that her husband, a plasterer, had introduced many ideas to make the house different and interesting.
The use of colour was also an important design feature.
“Our favourite area was the kitchen and living as we built it to be very social,” Mrs Matic said.
“The island bench faces the living area so if you’re cooking or cleaning you can still communicate with the rest of the house,” she said.
“When we had people over it was always really easy and a comfortable place for everyone.”
The entrance of the two-storey house leads through to a bedroom with a built-in wardrobe, powder room and the main bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe and ensuite.
Further down the hallway to the back is the open-plan kitchen, living and dining flowing out to the covered patio with a wooden ceiling, built-in barbecue and sink.
The galley-style kitchen features a 900mm freestanding oven, stone benchtops with waterfalls on the island and a unique wooden feature on the back. There is also a butler’s pantry.
The upper level includes three bedrooms all with built-in wardrobes, a family bathroom with separate toilet and rumpus.
“Anytime we had our son’s friends over it was really easy to have them here,” Mrs Matic said.
The family is moving to be closer to schools and will be sad to leave.
“It’s a shame to be leaving the area, and let’s just say we wouldn’t be against buying back into Rochedale later in life,” Mrs Matic said.
