IN A very community orientated street backing onto the Bunyaville Forest Reserve, the location of this Albany Creek home is hard to beat.
Owners Michael and Karen Roberts, who have lived in the home for five years with their three children, said it was a fantastic community to bring up a family.
“The community is very family friendly - there’s a lot of kids in the street and there was forever a stream of kids at our door wanting to play with our kids, it was really nice,” Mr Roberts said.
“Every now and then every would take down a chair and put it in a big circle and catch-up, everyone was always very accommodating.”
Mr Roberts said the positioning of the house on the 820sq m block was clever as the rear faces the Bunyaville Forest Reserve, and as it’s to the very left it allows a spacious backyard.
“It really makes the most of the land, and it was great looking straight out into the forest and watching the wildlife and birds nesting.”
Having moved from country New South Wales, the family were anxious about their move into suburbia, but said it almost felt like home with the forest reserve so close by.
“I have many memories of taking the kids biking through the tracks in the reserve, or going for walks and runs by myself,” Mr Roberts said.
The two-level home has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, two living spaces, two dining spaces, laundry, kitchen and deck.
Two bedrooms upstairs include built-in wardrobes whereas the main features a walk-in wardrobe and ensuite with double basins.
The downstairs bedroom has a built-in wardrobe and is located by the stairs at the front.
The formal living, formal dining and open plan kitchen, living and dining flow through to the rear deck.
“There’s a louvred section on the deck, so you can open it up and allow more light to flow into the house,” Mr Roberts said.
“In the morning the sun would come through the trees, and in the evening the trees light up from the setting sun, it was beautiful.
“We really are sad to be leaving.”
