THE FIRST blocks are now available in a new $1 billion Scenic Rim masterplanned community which will eventually consist of 2000 homes.
The 58 lots in the first release at Oakland Estate, a 300ha site at Beaudesert, are priced from $185,000 with blocks ranging from 595sq m to 1109sq m.
Work is already under way on a new school, which will open in 2017, and a recently approved shopping precinct which will ultimately include a supermarket, tavern, takeaways and a service station.
An over-50s retirement village is also included in the masterplan.
Developer James Robinson of Robinson Projects said most buyer inquiry had been from locals wanting to upgrade their homes, or Gold Coast and Brisbane residents seeking a new community that blends a semirural lifestyle with urban connectivity.
“It’s so rare to find a brand-new community of this scale – complete with education, retail, commercial and lifestyle facilities – right at the doorstep of an established town like Beaudesert,” Mr Robinson said.
“Beaudesert is on the cusp of unprecedented growth, with up to 18,000 jobs set to be delivered in the Bromelton State Development Area, just 6km from town, over the coming years.”
Rail company SCT Logistics, which has committed to a $30 million freight precinct adjacent the Sydney-to-Brisbane rail line, was recently announced as anchor tenant at the Bromelton industrial precinct.
Other developers also have projects in the pipeline, including Aquis which plans to convert Patinack Farm in nearby Canungra into a major resort and equestrian precinct.
“Oakland Estate will play a key part in this next chapter of growth,” Mr Robinson said.
“The majority of property in Oakland Estate will be family-sized homesites, which are much larger than the average existing properties in Beaudesert, with plenty of room for a big backyard and storage.
“The whole community will be developed in line with Beaudesert’s green and leafy environment, so there will be a 7ha park in stage one along with several other pocket parks in future stages.
“Beaudesert and the Scenic Rim has always been an attractive tourist destination with wineries, lookouts and hinterland retreats, but the added convenience of new lifestyle amenities, job growth and the opportunity to buy brand new at an affordable price will transform the region into a place more people want to call home.”
