CONSTRUCTION has started on Toowong’s latest apartment tower, the $120 million Illumina at the corner of Lissner and Jephson streets.
A large percentage of owner-occupiers have snapped up the project, created by Brisbane-based developer Property Solutions, with pre-sales reaching more than $100 million.
Launched in mid-2015, the building will have 221 apartments across 21 levels.
Property Solutions sales and marketing manager Craig Wright said Illumina’s collection of $1 million-plus apartments had been particularly popular with owner-occupiers.
“These apartments predominantly consist of three-bedroom and study residences, located on the tower’s top three levels, so they meet the size and amenity requirements of the end-user market,” he said.
Apartments on level five and above will have sweeping city, river and mountain views.
Residents will have access to a recreational sky deck with an infinity-edge pool, entertainment space and an open-air cinema.
The building’s street-level retail precinct is expected to attract cafes and boutiques.
Hutchinson Builders chairman Scott Hutchinson said construction was scheduled for completion between late 2017 and early 2018.
“It is exciting and encouraging to be involved in a development that has received so much attention and commitment from the market,” he said.
Remaining apartments are priced from $351,000 to $1.1 million.
