Parents of small children, prepare to hear a more familiar accent during breakfast.

Multi Emmy-winning Spring Hill production company Ludo Studio has scored a spot on ABC Kids for their super-cute series Bluey.

The first, 7min episode of it’s 52-show season screens on October 1, at 8am.

Snippets of the adorable animated series can be seen online, and it’s clear the world is falling in love with the plucky six-year-old blue heeler who lives in a city that’s unmistakably Brisbane.

The series “is a celebration of the role of imaginative play in shaping healthy children”, an ABC Kids spokesman said. “We follow Bluey, who loves to turn everyday family life into boundless playful adventures, developing her imagination as well as her mental, physical and emotional resilience.

“Adventures unfold in unpredictable and hilarious ways, bringing her dad, Bandit, mum, Chilli, four-year-old sister, Bingo, and the whole neighbourhood into her world of fun.”

The scenery is not the only Brisbane star featured.

Bluey is the creation of Brisbane writer/animator Joe Brumm, behind another seriously loved children’s series, Charlie and Lola, and Dan the Man computer game. It is executive co-produced by Emmy-award winning duo Charlie Aspinwall (#7DaysLater, Doodles) and Daley Pearson (#7DaysLater, The Strange Calls). Mr Pearson is also famous for starring as “Darryl Jacobson”, Thor’s mortal housemate in the Team Thor promotional videos for the smash-hit movie Thor: Ragnarok.

Animation director Richard Jeffery includes Tinga Tales, also on ABC KIDS, among his projects.

Voicing Bluey’s dad — Bandit, an archaeologist, is Dave McCormack, the award-winning musician and song writer and frontman for Brisbane band Custard.

Daley Pearson also plays “Darryl Jacobson”, Thor’s mortal housemate in the Team Thor promotional videos for the smash-hit movie Thor: Ragnarok.
