ALBANY Creek residents were woken early this morning when a police chase came to a crashing end near their homes.

One reported hearing a “massive impact” then seeing several police cars and bikes, a police officer with a gun drawn and a one person being chased and arrested.

The drama started when a blue sedan, allegedly stolen after a break-in early yesterday, was spotted by police on Samford Rd, Enoggera, just after midnight last night.

Police gave chase but were forced to twice use tyre deflation devices (TDD).

The first deployment resulted in just one tyre being deflated and the vehicle continued travelling towards Albany Creek, where a second TDD was deployed deflating the remaining tyres.

The vehicle continued north along Keong Rd, Albany Creek, where it crashed into a guard rail at the intersection with Albany Creek Rd about 12.50am.

Two teenagers, a male and female, fled the vehicle and were located a short time later by police officers.

Police will allege the blue sedan was stolen during a break-in of a home in Bertha St, Kalinga, in the early hours of Thursday morning, July 25.

They also allege there was a link to the break in of a home in Advanx St, Kenmore Hills, between 8am and 6pm Thursday where property, including computer tablets and jewellery, was stolen.

Two teenagers have been charged.

A Keperra woman, 18, has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, receiving tainted property, and two counts of burglary and committing an indictable offence.

A Keperra boy, 15, has been charged with two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, receiving tainted property, and two counts of burglary and committing an indictable offence.

There were both due to appear in Pine Rivers Magistrates Court today.
