Troy Royal remembered after fatal motorcycle crash on Southern Cross Way, Hendra

A man who died after falling from his motorcycle on a busy northside road has been remembered by friends and loved ones as a beloved family man.

A man who died after falling from his motorcycle on a busy northside road has been remembered by friends and loved ones as a beloved family man.

Troy Royal was killed after the motorcycle crash on Southern Cross Way at Hendra around 3.20am on March 21.

Police investigations indicated the motorcycle was headed north on Southern Cross Way, just north of the East West Arterial Rd, when the 49-year-old lost control and fell from the bike.

Paramedics treated the Albany Creek man at the scene but he died shortly after.

“Troy loved his family … he will be missed by so many people. May you RIP,” Troy’s sister Kirsty Trusz said.

Mr Royal’s older brother Bradley, who lived in Townsville, said Troy was “always loved and will never be forgotten”.

“(You were) taken from us way to soon, we love you so very much,” he said.

Others, including family and friends, took to social media to pay tribute to Mr Royal.

“My cousin. Will miss you mate fly high with aunty and uncle. ‘Til we meet again,” one person wrote.

“Such a sad day. We know you are now having a few beverages with Brett. We are thinking of you and your family,” another person posted.

“An amazing soul that will be greatly missed in this community of ours. Sending strength to all that is feeling this loss,” a woman wrote in tribute.

The Australian Motorcycle Safety Awareness group also posted a social media tribute to Mr Royal.

“May he Rest in Peace flying high with his new angel wings. They came too soon,’’ it posted. “Condolences to all who knew and loved him.’’

Mr Royal, who attended Mitchelton State High School, worked as a laboratory technician for the Brisbane City Council for the past 15 years.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash or had relevant footage.

Forensic Crash Unit investigations are continuing.
