Thirteen schools across Brisbane’s north west will get airconditioning as part of a $50 million State Government program announced this week.
They will be among 301 across Queensland which will be included in the roll out.
State Labor MP for Ferny Grove Mark Furner said seven schools in his electorate were included.
“This is a great outcome for students and teachers in these schools who will be over the moon with this news before the school holidays start,” Mr Furner said.
“I’d like to acknowledge the fantastic work already done by local P and Cs and school communities in the past to provide airconditioning in schools.”
No timeline has been released for the program.
Education Minister Grace Grace said every school in the state would be audited to determine what their needs were.
This was expected to be completed by the end of the year.
“We’re getting on with the job and methodically rolling out airconditioning for classrooms in a fiscally responsible manner,” Ms Grace said.

■ Grovely State School
■ Ferny Hills State School
■ Ferny Grove State School

■ Newmarket State School
