Police prosecutor sergeant Graham Turner said Davidson first began to target the area when he broke into a parked car in a driveway, just after midnight on July 21, when the owner of the car was asleep.
Davidson took a wallet, bank cards and ID cards before taking off.
Turner told the court Davidson returned around the same time on the evening of July 23, when he entered another car, also parked in a driveway.
The victim was unsure if anything was taken from the car on this occasion.
The third and final offence occurred when he approached another car on the same evening. This car was locked and secure, so Davidson smashed in a window to gain entry, the court heard.
The court heard the noise attracted nearby neighbours who quickly congregated and confronted Davidson, eventually chasing him down the street in an effort to bring him to justice.
During the pursuit Davidson dropped a sports bag and a bike, which were later handed into police.
The bag held identification cards naming Davidson and a clip seal bag containing a small amount of cannabis.
The ID allowed police to conduct further inquiries which ultimately led them to intercepting a car as it drove through the suburb the following day.
Davidson was found hiding in the back seat and taken to the Pine Rivers watch house.
Davidson was convicted and not further punished, as he had since served four months imprisonment as a result of being imprisoned on a number of other offences committed at a similar time and dealt with on July 24.
