If you haven’t made plans yet don’t worry some of Brisbane’s best venues and fab locations still have spots available to see in 2020. Here’s a taste of what’s on offer.

Before you dive into New Year’s resolutions what could be better than finding a great place to see in 2020 and Brisbane’s got plenty on offer.
Revellers can treat themselves to a picnic under the bright city lights or head to one of the many riverside venues hosting New Year’s Eve functions.
Portside Wharf restaurants including Belvedere Bar n Grill, Byblos Bar, Cruisers Alfresco, Gusto da Gianni and newly opened wine bar @Mr & Mrs Jones are ready for the big event and there’s family friendly options at Burrito Bar, Ginga, Hello Harry and Subway.
Visitors to the Wharf will be treated to two firework displays, 8.30pm and midnight, including live music from Midnight Groove.
The Jetty South Bank is celebrating with incredible views of the fireworks spectacular and a menu with some of their favourite dishes.
First sitting is from 5.30pm including the Family Feast and 4-course shared menu leading up to the 8.30pm fireworks. From 8.30pm the Firework Feast will begin.
If great music is your thing, the Queensland Pops Orchestra will once again bring in the New Year with a spectacular orchestral evening at QPAC including two performances (5.30pm and 9pm) with unbeatable views of the fireworks from the QPAC rooftop.
Eagle Street Pier will be celebrating in style with dining options ranging from Fratelli Famous and The Bavarian to Grill’d and the Coffee Club as well as Pier favourites Il Centro, Cha Cha Char, George’s Paragon and Mr and Mrs G Riverbar. Live entertainment in the Pier precinct kicks off from 5pm.
Around the river bend, Howard Smith Wharves is hosting dazzling events at its venues including options at Felons Brewing Co, Mr Percival’s as well as the Rendezvous with Ruinart event in Bougainvillea House.
For a more casual celebration take a picnic rug and pick a spot on the lawns and enjoy food from the stalls on offer.
In Fortitude Valley Cloudland is hosting its glamorous New Year’s Eve ball featuring five exclusive party rooms, live entertainment and multiple party packages available.
If you want to move just out of the CBD there’s the New Year’s Eve 2019 Victoria Park Cocktail Ball including a five hour food and beverage pack, live band and roving performers and exclusive midnight fireworks.
And if you’re not in the city and looking for a great way to bring in the New Year not far from the sea, Victoria Point’s New Year’s event @Lakeside starts at 5pm with free 9pm fireworks.
The event, at 7-21 Bunker Rd, Victoria Point, features magic shows, a comedy circus and the High St Markets.
Eateries across the precinct will also be open including Barcella Restaurant, the Burrito Bar, Elysium Restaurant & Bar, Grill’d Victoria Point, Hog’s Breath Café, Haveli Indian Restaurant and Harvest Café.
So from fine dining to family feasts, themed balls and a good old fashioned picnic under the stars, there’s plenty to do and see across town.
