St Margaret’s Anglican Girls’ School athlete Isabella Harte continued her golden season when she returned from the recent Australian cross country championships as a national champion — again.
Harte, aged 14, won the under 16 age group but it was her time which was even more impressive than her gold medal.

She had the fastest time for the girls under 16s 4km event at 13.55 minutes.
It was the third time this year that Harte has stood aloft a podium as a national champion.
In March-April, Harte stormed to first placing in the 1500m and 800m at the national titles.
Harte, who trains at Mayne Harriers under the coaching of Andrew Iselin, said all her performances were special to her.
“I do not have a preference for my favourite event, I enjoy all of them,’’ she said.
She said while this season was the best of her career, Harte had big plans.
“My ambition is to continue to achieve bigger and better results not just nationally, but hopefully globally,’’ she said.
“My aim is to compete at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships in a few years’ time.’’
