Search for street dumper after rubbish, furniture and asbestos tipped on Albany Creek street

Residents are angry after a large amount of household rubbish, green waste and asbestos was dumped on their quiet suburban street.

FURIOUS Albany Creek residents are trying to identify the people responsible for dumping a large amount of household rubbish, and asbestos, in a suburban street.

One described the culprit as a “feral grub” and hoped the act “comes back to bite you severely on the arse”.

She said the dumping, in Forest Court, occurred between 4.14pm and 5.50pm Wednesday.

A utility was seen in the street at the time and the call has gone out for CCTV footage that might help catch the guilty party.

A council spokesman said its staff removed the material which they found included furniture, green waste, plastic bags, a sandpit, garden pots, vases and broken asbestos piping.

The spokesman said anyone with information about illegal dumping activities should contact council immediately so incidents could be investigated.

Illegal dumping carries fines of up to $133,450 for individuals and $667,250 for corporations.

The spokesman said its officers undertook regular patrols but it was important for the public to report incidents so it could use that information to investigate.
