A Burpengary mother-of-five has been sentenced to three months imprisonment with immediate release after she was found guilty of stealing a car and several car parts from a mechanic in Deagon.

Chennae Marie Ash-lei Pickthorne, 28, pleaded guilty to trespassing, stealing and possession of drug utensils at the Sandgate Magistrates Court today.

The court heard Pickthorne was captured on CCTV footage as the passenger of a white Mitsubishi Triton which entered the private yard of Square Deal Service Station on Depot Rd just before 3.30am on Thursday, June 25.

The ute was then seen driving to the BP Bracken Ridge, where Pickthorne used her bank card to hire a trailer.

The trailer was attached to a second vehicle, a Holden Adventra, which was then taken by her co-accused Benjamin Alexander Walker back to the mechanic.

Walker allegedly loaded a Toyota Hilux, Mazda 6 and parts of an ABS braking system into the trailer and drove away with it.

The co-accused had been pulled over by police while driving the Holden Adventra just days before the incident, so police knew where to look.

On June 30 police executed a search warrant on a home in Morayfield, where they found Pickthorne asleep in her bedroom, a pipe used for smoking dangerous drugs, and the stolen car parts.

Text messages between Pickthorne and Walker further confirmed her involvement as they discussed stripping parts from the stolen Hilux.

The court heard Pickthorne dropped out of Deception Bay State High School in Grade 10 when she became pregnant with her first of five children, for whom she is the sole carer.

For seven years, the mother was allegedly in an abusive relationship with a drug user, and it was at this time she became addicted herself.

Several problems with mental health and the law ensued.

Magistrate Jennifer Batts told Pickthorne she risked a lot by behaving the way she did, with so many children to care for.

Pickthorne was convicted and sentenced to three months imprisonment with immediate release on parole.

Walker has yet to have his hearing.
