A 36-year-old woman has been charged with a string of offences after police raided a home at Arana Hills north of Brisbane last Thursday afternoon.
Police say the woman now faces charges including burglary, possessing category-R weapons (defined as machineguns or fully automatic large-calibre military weapons) and category-M weapons (defined as crossbows, certain knives and other handheld weapons capable of causing bodily harm), three counts of possessing dangerous drugs, receiving tainted property and possessing property in connection to a drug offence.
The charges followed a tactical raid on the Plucks Rd home, where heavily armed police surrounded the property located in what neighbours described as a “family oriented” street.
“You’ve got a lot of mums at home with a lot of kids… it’s a very community area,” they said.
“There was six of them on top of a car in the back and they all had their rifles pointed.”
The woman is due to face Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on September 16.
