Padua College school leaver Harrison Fox will bound into club rugby with Norths next season buoyed by his experience in the Barbarians Schoolboys who played the New Zealand Schoolboys.
The tall, strongly built second rower or blindside flanker was pleasantly surprised by his call-up into the outfit after playing for the Queensland Schoolboys No. 2 side earlier in the season.

“It came as a little bit of a surprise as I was not in the top Queensland side at the state championships. I was in the second team,’’ he explained.
The Wooloowin resident said selection had given him encouragement and the whole experience had benefited him on and off the field.

“It showed me the level I need to be at,’’ the Eagle Junction State School past student said.
“I learnt to get the little things right.
“Another big thing we learnt at the Barbarians team was that we are not too big for the little things.
“If you see rubbish on the floor, pick it up. If someone needs a door opened, then go and open the door.’’

Fox, who nominated David Pocock and John Eales has past and present players he admired, said he wanted to keep developing as a player and hopefully land a professional contract.
