Norths rugby league coach Rohan Smith said the Devils must seize their opportunities after yesterday’s 32-20 Intrust Super Cup loss to an impressive Sunshine Coast.
Despite the Falcons scoring 32 points, Norths still created enough chance to challenge for a win which on one hand is promising, but on the other hand extremely frustrating for coach Smith.
While the Sunshine Coast did score four tries in 15 minutes between the 54th and 69th minutes, Norths also had their chances during this decisive period of play.
“We created some opportunities in and around those tries,’’ Smith reflected.
“It was a case of missed opportunities and not be able to defend our next set (after an error).
Smith said overall Norths’ handling was not bad.
But he said against a quality side featuring experienced Falcons’ players and a mix of “fantastic” young Melbourne Storm talent, his team’s handling was not good enough.
Smith said his side also scrambled well at times in defence to save tries, but moving forward it was imperative the team tookits chances in attack when offered.
Norths round five match will be against the PNG Hunters on Saturday at 6pm.
