The company operates a number of Brisbane’s most popular pubs and bars including Regatta Hotel in Toowong, and CBD outlets Riverland and Friday’s.

The Crown isn’t the first venue to get a makeover, with Australian Venue Co recently undertaken multimillion-dollar renovations at several venues across Queensland including Kings Beach Tavern on the Sunshine Coast.

Lutwyche’s $2.4 million new-look local includes a new bistro, sports bar and beer garden, with seating for 140 patrons for casual drinking and dining.

Australian Venue Co chief operating officer Craig Ellison said he was thrilled to be reopening such a historic venue.

“Lutwyche needed something a bit special, and we’re happy to create that for locals,” he said.

“It brings the drinking and dining experience you’d expect at a trendy pub in the city, but without losing the casual charm of a neighbourhood hangout.”

Mr Ellison said a group of lucky locals and business owners were invited to preview the new menu.

“They’ve been so positive and supportive, and we’ve taken their feedback on board to make sure we’re offering the menus they want,” he said.

“(As well as a) cracking line of up of activity – things to meet your friends for after work, like comedy and themed trivia.”

The menu has been put together by executive chef Dylan Kemp and head chef Jamie Blake “offering a balance of high-quality pub classics as well as on-trend casual dining options”.

The Crown Hotel in Lutwyche is now open.
