Moreton Bay Regional Council is buying the site of gym and swimming pool at Arana Hills but will not reopen the facility.
Councillor Matt Constance (Div 10) confirmed the council had a contract in place to purchase the Club Arana building at 303 Dawson Pde (about 200m north of Patricks Rd) and would have ownership by mid-October.

“It was a strategic purchase by council that will provide opportunities for council to activate the Arana Hills precinct in the future,” he said.
The purchase, he said, was a chance to provide a new community space at Arana Hills in a “strategic location” near the Hills District PCYC and Leslie Patrick Park.
Planning of the future use of the site would start after settlement.
The council would not disclose how much it paid for the site.
“The seller has had the gym and pool on the market for two years as he is ready to retire,’ Cr Constance said.
Club Arana will close on October 14.
