THREE popular restaurants on Brisbane’s north side have shut due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Jayliano’s buffet restaurants at Mitchelton and Strathpine, and Ariala restaurant at Kippa-Ring, all part of the same group, will remain closed until further notice.

In a statement issued this afternoon, the restaurants’ management said the decision was made based on advice by the World Health Organisation and the Federal Government to prevent staff or customers being infected with COVID-19.

“It is incredibly hard for us to accept and whilst we have not experienced any cases, the safety of our customers and staff is our highest priority,” the statement said.

The news comes the same day as the federal government banned gatherings of more than 100 in the same enclosed space.

People with bookings are being contacted.
