Police have arrested a Brisbane westside man aged in his forties and charged him with two offences after an 18-year-old was allegedly assaulted at his local Domino’s in front of a horrified dinner crowd.

Queensland Police on Tuesday confirmed a 46-year-old The Gap man had been issued a notice to appear charging him with offences of common assault and public nuisance by way of threatening violence.

The offences are alleged to have occurred about 6pm last Monday night at Domino’s The Gap on Waterworks Rd.

According to an eyewitness, who spoke with the Westside News a few hours after the offences allegedly occurred, the 46-year-old was seen in the carpark prior to the alleged assault and was wearing his work uniform.

The teen’s mother, who asked not to be named to protect the identity of her “very shaken” son, told the Westside News she was “heartbroken” and feared the long-term effects on her son.

“As his mother, I worry about what this will mean for him going forward,” she said.

“Will he want to go out in public, will it affect his mental health?”

The man’s two charges will be mentioned in Brisbane Magistrates Court on October 27.
