Brisbane weddings of the Nineties and Noughties relived

From white weddings, to a last-minute military marriage and nude nuptials, here’s a taste of some of the most memorable Brisbane weddings from decades gone by. SEE THE GALLERY

They are the glorious, meticulously planned days of lovers in Brisbane from decades ago and their smiles caught on film still ring true today.

It’s true, some of the fashions have moved on, but with any luck these glorious couples have not.

Here’s a look back at some of the wonderful weddings of Brisbane’s Nineties and noughties.

Swimmer Karen Van Wirdum who proposed live on television from the Commonwealth Games in Victoria to her boyfriend Robert Dunne was married in Brisbane in November 1994.

Brisbane couple Chris Garrett and Penny Ray were married on stage before a KISS concert in Melbourne in 2001.

Kris, 23, and Kenu, 23, were married at the Gallipoli Barracks chapel in Enoggera in 1999. They planned their wedding in 48 hours because of possible deployment to East Timor.
