A young Brisbane real estate professional has been given a “second chance” by a magistrate after her underground drug-dealing habits were revealed in court.

Anna Louise Humeniuk, 27, faced sentence in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday, October 21 having pleaded guilty to four counts of supplying an “unspecified” amount of an “unspecified” drug.

The Newstead social media influencer wore black from head to toe and looked downcast as she sat beside her lawyer Adam Guest at the bar table.

Mr Guest said his client was a person “easily influenced”.

He referred to a series of text messages and said they indicated her actions were “at the behest of someone else”.

Magistrate John Costanzo disagreed, stating there was no evidence she had been influenced by any other person to commit the offences.

He said the text messages Mr Guest spoke of in fact suggested Humeniuk was “quite knowledgeable” as to the type and quantity of drug she was dealing and “fully knew what (she was) doing”.

Mr Costanzo questioned statements made to the court by people known to Humeniuk about her character which described her as having a “genuine and positive influence in society” and making a “simple mistake”.

“Have standards in society dropped that much?” he asked.

The references mentioned she was involved with and had assisted a number of charities, including a children’s charity.

Mr Costanzo said her connection to such organisations alone did not make her “a good citizen” and raised concerns about whether it was suitable she dealt with children’s charities.

“You deserve a second chance,” he told Humeniuk.

“Don’t expect a third.”

The court heard Humeniuk was not herself a drug user. Mr Costanzo suggested her dealing habit was adopted simply to bolster her earnings made in real estate.

She was ordered to pay a $3000 fine and convictions were not recorded.
