A new multimillion-dollar health facility has opened to take pressure off Brisbane’s northside hospitals.

Developed by Cornerstone Group, the 5500 sqm health hub is currently 75 per cent leased, offering access to medical specialists including general practitioners, vascular surgeons, orthopaedic surgeons, cardiologists, obesity specialists, rehabilitation services, pathologists, and radiology experts when the building is fully occupied.

Its allied health services range from dental care, optometry, neurological physiotherapy, psychology to a bariatric or obesity clinic.

The multipurpose building also features a range of different sized medical suites with a capacity for future operating theatres.

Cornerstone Group director Simon Heazlewood said they were excited to bring their eighth integrated hub for people in Chermside and beyond.

“Our focus is on delivering integrated, efficient and accessible care, addressing both primary and specialised healthcare needs within the community, and having that process happen as smoothly as possible for people seeking treatment,” he said.

Current patient Lily Turner was pleased to see more than 180 car spaces at the location.

“The Health Hub location is really convenient – loads of parking and if you need to catch public transport, it’s all right there,” she said.

“From seeing my GP, to getting bloods done then being referred to a specialist. It was so handy being in one place.”

The hub also aims to meet the diverse healthcare needs of the community while reducing the strain on local hospital services and giving residents an alternative to emergency departments for non-urgent but comprehensive care.

It opens seven days from 7.30am to 5pm on weekdays and 8am to 2pm on weekends, and is closed on public holidays.
