Construction of an $18 million dollar new mixed-use development north of Brisbane has begun.

North Lakes Junction is set to combine the best of both worlds with restaurants, businesses and a residential component forming part of the new project, on Anzac Ave.

Keymax Building Group Pty Ltd first submitted a development application for the property to Moreton Bay Regional Council in March, 2019.

The proposal included a food and drink outlet, health care service, officers, shops and a warehouse to be built at 1741-1747 and 1751 Anzac Ave, Mango Hill.

The original proposal for North Lakes Junction included 20 units of different sizes, alongside 14 commercial tenants.

However, the scope of works approved by the council on January 6 this year included a total of 30 units.

The residential space will include a mix of two and three-bedroom units available for rent.

The apartments are located at the rear of the building and are “physically and functionally separate from the commercial units at the front”, according to planning documents.

The homes also allow for private access, secure undercover carparking and spacious outdoor areas.

Keymax described the site, located on the cusp of North Lakes and Mango Hill, as an exciting opportunity for businesses to base themselves in an ever-growing region.

Located on a 7899 sqm site, the ground level building will have 14 shopfronts for commercial use ranging from 53-400 sqm, six of which have already been snapped up by tenants.

There will also be 50 carparking spaces upon completion.

A Keymax spokeswoman said the vision behind North Lakes Junction was to create a vibrant precinct where residents could work, live, shop and “connect’’.

“The Moreton Bay Region is one of the fastest growing council areas in Australia with North Lakes at the heart of the region,” she said.

“The development is a great example of how co-locating appropriate development alongside amenities like retail precincts, transport hubs and major parks can create sustainable local communities.

“Some of the businesses that will benefit from this extraordinary location are restaurants, a barber, beauty, retail goods, real estate agent and an accounting firm.

Construction is due for completion in June next year.
