Laser radial sailor Ashley Stoddart, from Murrumba Downs, had a tougher day at Guanabara Bay this morning, after posting two top-10 finishes yesterday.

Stoddart, a member of the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron in Manly, finished 17th and 28th. With the lowest score discounted, she is now 14th overall on 31 points.

“It was really tight racing today,” Stoddart told the Australian Olympic website.

“The lighter winds meant everyone was a lot closer.

It was really tricky and there were a few subtle shifts that I just missed out on.”

Stoddart, a former student at Mueller College, Rothwell, has two more preliminary round races just after 2am tomorrow morning.
