Mr English’s body was discovered at about 3.15am on Saturday morning at the base of the View Pacific Apartments. He had fallen from the fourth floor.
Moranbah’s Jason Ryan Knowles, 22, Woodridge’s Lachlan Paul Soper-Lagas, 18, and Caboolture’s Hayden Paul Kratzmann, 20, have all now had their cases adjourned to Southport on August 4.
All three have been remanded in custody. None of their attendances are required at the next appearance.
Speaking after his client Soper-Lagas’ charges were adjourned to Southport, defence lawyer Ali Rana from Go To Court Lawyers said that it is a “general principal” that charges are joined during the disclosure stage, where police share their evidence with the defence.
He said this was “just for efficiency”, as the same police officers would be working on the brief of evidence against the trio.
However, he noted that it is open to lawyers to apply for a separate trial for their client further down proceedings.
