Moreton Bay councillors will on Thursday vote on whether to release the long-awaited report into an organisational review carried out by local government experts Grassroots Connections Australia.

The report is the culmination of months of work including interviews with councillors, external stakeholders and more than 1000 council employees.

The report is expected to provide, in “Phase 2” of the review, opportunities for improvement for the council.

Grassroots Connection principal consultant Greg Hoffman had previously said that the outcomes of the review would be made public.

On Monday, the council posted notice of a Special General Meeting to be held on Thursday for the purpose of endorsing the terms of reference for “Phase 2”, based on the responses from interviews and staff surveys.

Councillors were to also vote on whether to release the report to the public, and whether to establish a project management group that will oversee the implementation of recommendations in the report.

When contacted by Quest Community News ahead of Thursday’s vote, the council circled the wagons and met inquiries with a wall of silence.
