A Narangba pet groomer is one of the contestants in Channel 7’s Pooch Perfect that starts this week.

Davina Dewar will be helped on the show by her sister-in-law Natasha Fox.

Ms Dewar runs a home-based grooming salon called Stylist to the Dogs.

A busy mum with daughters aged four and two, Ms Dewar is originally from Melbourne.

“Competing in Pooch Perfect with Natasha is a dream come true,” Ms Dewar said. “I fell into dog styling when I was 21. I hêad a pet-sitting business and wanted to grow into a franchised business, but I knew I had to add more pet services.

“I started learning pet styling so I could train my franchisees. I love the creative side of styling and helping dogs feel better.

“I love to be over-the-top creative. I groom pet dogs in my salon, so most of the time my styles are pet trims, but most of my ideas are out of the box and not necessarily maintainable as a pet trim.”

Ms Dewar has two dogs, a kelpie cattle dog/border collie cross named Red and Shih tzu/Maltese poodle cross named Oscar.

Ms Fox, who recently moved to Sydney to further her acting career, said she had no grooming skills but was confident in her role as assistant.
