The Sebel Brisbane Margate Beach Hotel has finally opened its doors

A new waterfront hotel in southeast Queensland is open and taking bookings. Take a tour of the rooms, rooftop pool and amazing view.

A new waterfront hotel in southeast Queensland is open and taking bookings.

The four-storey, 58-room beachside hotel is at Margate, north of Brisbane.

It opened its doors to guests on Monday. An official opening, which included a red carpet, was held on Tuesday night.

The hotel was developed by Traders in Purple, who linked with AccorHotels.

Traders in Purple chief executive officer Brett Robinson said The Sebel Brisbane Margate Beach Hotel, was more than a place to stay.

“As developers, we no longer just create magnificent hotels, we are place-making, creating lifestyle spaces that connect to memorable experiences for our Sebel guests,” Mr Robinson said.

The hotel, at McCulloch Ave, includes the Margate Beach House bar and kitchen, 80-person meeting and function room, a rooftop pool, entertainment terrace and gym.

All the studio rooms have superior finishes and stylish furnishings.

The hotel’s interiors were designed by Siobhan Gomes-McNabb.

“The vision for the design of the hotel was to ensure it brought a connection with a varying demographic, to become a key destination for Queenslanders, tourists and locals, who want to ensure the pleasure of a unique and trendy bayside accommodation and hospitality venue,” she said.

There are two themes for the guests rooms — Boho, for the lower floors incorporating a silvery grey palette and textured timber, while the top two floors have a more luxurious feel with dark and moody greys and rich blues.

Hotel general managers Peter McIlwain and Gail Campbell said they were “extremely proud” of the new hotel.
